Privacy Policy

// Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Adledger ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our website, https://adledger.net/ (the "Site"), and your interaction with the decentralized Adledger protocol (the "Protocol").

Our philosophy is to maximize transparency and minimize data collection. The Adledger Protocol is a decentralized, open-source tool. We do not have custody of your funds, and we cannot access your private keys.

By accessing the Site or interacting with the Protocol, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

// 1. Information We Collect

Our data collection is limited to what is necessary to provide and improve our Site and Protocol.

A. Information We DO NOT Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) to interact with the Protocol. We will never ask you for, and we do not have access to, your wallet's private keys.

Crucially, the Adledger Protocol is designed to not collect, store, or process any PII of our partners' end-users (e.g., a Publisher's customers). The Protocol only verifies conversions using non-PII, such as transaction IDs.

B. Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, such as your email address when you contact us for support at operations@adledger.net.

C. Information Collected Automatically (Site Analytics)

When you visit our Site, we may automatically collect certain non-personal information to help us understand how our Site is used. This may include:

Log Data: Your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited.

Cookie Data: We use cookies for analytics and to improve your website experience.

D. Public Blockchain Data

The Protocol operates on public blockchains. When you interact with the Protocol, your public wallet address and transaction history become part of the public, immutable record of the blockchain. This data is not controlled by us.

// 2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

Provide and Maintain the Site: Ensure our website is functional and secure.

Respond to You: Answer your support requests and inquiries.

Improve Our Services: Use analytics to understand how users interact with our Site so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.

Enforce Our Terms: Protect the security and integrity of the Site and Protocol from fraud or malicious activity.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

// 3. How We Share Information

We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

With Service Providers: We may share data with third-party service providers for functions like website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).

For Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency) in our governing jurisdiction.

Public Data: Any data publicly recorded on the blockchain (like your wallet address) is inherently public.

// 4. Our Role and Data Specific to the Adledger Protocol

You acknowledge that in the context of the Adledger Protocol, our partners (Advertisers and Publishers) act as the Data Controllers. They are solely responsible for their relationship with their end-users and for their own compliance with all applicable data protection laws.

Adledger acts as a Technical Service Provider or Data Processor. We provide the on-chain tools to facilitate verification and do not own, control, or determine the use of any personal data of our partners' end-users. Our partners are responsible for ensuring they have a legal basis (e.g., user consent) to process any data they use in connection with the Protocol.

The Protocol is designed to be a trustless data-verification bridge, not a data-collection tool.

Advertisers & Publishers: When you connect to the Protocol, you provide business-level information, such as your wallet address for payouts or your API endpoint for oracle verification. We do not control or store the private data within your own systems.

Oracles: The Protocol uses oracles (e.g., Chainlink) to automatically query Advertiser APIs. This process is automated. We do not access or store the underlying PII of your customers; the oracle only seeks to verify a specific, non-PII transaction ID.

// 5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to monitor activity on our Site and hold certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

// 6. Data Security & Retention

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we collect. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

We retain information you provide (like support emails) only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with our legal obligations.

// 7. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location (particularly in relation to Ukrainian law and GDPR), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as:

The right to access or correct your personal information.

The right to request the deletion of your personal information.

The right to object to our processing of your personal information.

To exercise these rights, please contact us. Please note that we cannot modify or delete any information that is permanently recorded on a public blockchain.

// 8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

// 9. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to other websites not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

// 10. International Data Transfers

Your information, including the limited personal data we collect (such as your email or IP address), may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

By using our Site or contacting us, you consent to this transfer. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

// 11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, with the exclusive venue for any disputes being the courts located in Kyiv, Ukraine.

// 12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
